3M™ Dyneon™ PTFE TF 9205 is a white, non-free flowing powder that lowers coefficient of friction when blended into other polymers or liquids. This additive improves non-stick properties. Liquid systems that require rheology modification may benefit from this multi-functional additive.
Due to PTFE micro-powder composition, 3M™ Dyneon™ PTFE TF 9205 lowers coefficient of friction when blended into other polymers or liquids. In addition, it can be effective as a rheological additive and significantly increases viscosity when added to liquids and this feature is less temperature-dependent than many other modifiers. If TF 9205 is added to solids or coatings, it can lead to a significant reduction in frictional sliding resistance and can also have a positive influence on the non-stick effect of the surface. This PTFE agglomerate has an average particle size of around 8 μm, features easy de-agglomeration.
3M™ Dyneon™ PTFE Micropowder TF 9205 can be added to lubricant oils/greases and waxes, polymers, paints, elastomers and coatings. The typical volume loading quantity varies between < 1% and 20% depending on the selected matrix and the desired properties. Plastics that can benefit from the properties of TF 9205 include: polyacetal, polyamide, polycarbonate, polyester, polyimide, polysulfide, polysulfone and potentially many others. Elastomers include: fluoroelastomers, neoprenes, nitriles and silicones and potentially many others.
